With up to 5 contacts rated at 30 Amp (7 contacts – 15A, 9 and 12 contact – 5A), these bayonet coupling, dust and dirt proof, WP20 connectors build a powerful IP55 rated indoor interconnect system.

The WP20 series bayonet coupling connectors will provide IP55 integrity when mated and will work reliably in indoor conditions.

The WP20’s bayonet latching system is renowned for its easy and quick mating and unmating. It also provides security against vibration, shock or pull on the cable and facilitates operation in a very limited space. The push and twist system also allows the connector to be mated by simply pushing the plug axially into the socket. Once firmly latched, connection cannot be broken by pulling on the cable.

Applications

The IP standard classifies the degrees of protection provided by the enclosures of electrical equipment. Developed by the European Committee for Electrotechnical Standardization (CENELEC), these standards are designed to numerically rate an electrical product on the level of protection its enclosure provides. IP55 enclosures are intended to provide protection against dust, dirt, lint, dripping water, and dripping external condensation or splashing of non-corrosive liquids. The Socket of the WP20 connector is rated IP44. WP20 connectors are widely used for safe control and power connections between equipment where IP 55 is critical, e.g. in instrumentation, medical, process control, industrial machinery, and other applications like LED lights and LED display walls, outdoor security cameras, etc.
