Whatever happened to McMurdo Connectors?
Well, in 1998 McMurdo Connectors were acquired by ITW Switches (one of ITW’s many Brands) and those connectors remaining within ITW’s now much truncated range are available from In2Connect in the UK.
In2Connect UK historically stocked arguably the widest range of ITW McMurdo “Special” D-sub connectors and connector accessories available anywhere.
However, since ITW have an ongoing programme to rationalise and obsolete low volume usage D-sub connectors; In2Connect’s years of accumulated knowledge mean that we’re exceptionally well placed to propose suitable fit, form and function replacements once stocks of obsoleted parts run out.

As negotiations continue over the UK’s long-term relationship with the EU, In2Connect UK Ltd, alongside all other UK businesses is preparing for ‘Brexit’ on 31st January 2020, if it occurs. The outcome of Brexit – needs to be considered for our own business operations as well as those of our customers and suppliers.
There is widespread concern that the UK will not reach an exit agreement with the EU, but this is speculative and meantime we can only prepare and address issues based upon our current knowledge and assumptions whilst tracking ongoing developments.
We are currently gathering information from our own supply chain so that the full potential impact on our goods and services can be understood.
As a valued customer to our business we will keep you informed of any potential impact to products and services to yourselves, as Brexit negotiations continue.
With regards to our stock product lines, we are reviewing supply levels well into 2020 to be as prepared as we can to lessen the impact to our customers. We shall put procedures in place to handle any new import/export requirements introduced, to ensure as much as possible that disruption to our stock flow is avoided. We are very keen to support you in your projects and if there is a specific product that you have ongoing business for that we could potentially retain safety/buffer stock for you we would be pleased to talk to you.
We assure you of our full attention to this matter, it is imperative for all our businesses survival to ensure that the flow of goods down the supply chain is maintained effectively.
Following a review of product sales during 2017 ITW McMurdo decided to cease manufacturing their “Crimp” Dee connectors. As a franchised distributor for ITW McMurdo and ITW Switches, In2Connect UK have made available suitable own-brand replacement connectors. #connectors #in2connect #crimp

EtherCAT is a real-time Industrial Ethernet technology originally developed by Beckhoff Automation. Historically, EtherCAT used 4-pole shielded M8x1 connectors and a standard Ethernet cable, with the power supply provided by a separate cable. The latest development “EtherCAT-P” by Beckhoff and the associated ETG (EtherCAT Technology Group) enables a combination of super fast EtherCAT communication and 24 V power supply for system and sensor supply with 24 V | 3 A in a single two-wire data pair and Conec have the connectors and patch cables to match.
Calmont Wire and Cable provided it’s highly flexible and durable Siliflex wire and other custom cables to distribute power and signal to many of the Cassini spacecraft’s operating systems.
Mixed layout combination d-sub connectors offer the ability to integrate signal contacts, 50 and 75 Ohm coax, up to 40Amp high power, and high voltage contacts in a standard d-sub shell.
