ept offer a range of VME-Bus female connectors in styles B and C with integrated, custom configured switching functions

Many bus systems utilise a common signal circuit which is "daisy chained" through a succession of daughter cards. This can create problems when 'active' cards have to be removed from a system, because the signal path is broken and needs to be 'jumpered' on the backplane. An elegant and simple solution lies in the integration of a mechanical switching function into the connector. This technique is not restricted to VME bus, or pin in row switching.
A switching function can be placed between two adjacent pins in any B or C series full or half DIN connector, as well as between pins in parallel rows ~ thus providing solutions in Ethernet Hubs and other Networking applications
Non-switched, standard DIN 41612 connectors are available in Class II (suitable for 400 operations). Their versatility is further enhanced by a choice of between 15 and 96 press-fit (DIN 41611 Part 5) or solder contacts; standard and reverse DIN; mixed layout and full or partial contact loading. Dual leaf socket contacts ensure reliability, whilst protective 'first mate last break' premate contacts and screw machined boardlocks can be included. The DIN 41612 and sister series DIN 41617 are suitable for a wide range of applications.
