In2Connect UK Ltd has introduced a range of MALE edgecard connectors designed to simulate 0.062¨ (1.58 mm) thick daughtercards. These male edgecards are not only innovative, they're built for maximum efficiency. They allow the use of a wire assembly connector in place of a daughter card, perfect for testing and prototyping.
Male edgecard connectors are ideally suited for employment in an array of high-temperature, high-cycle life applications in which the circuit connection of PCBs or wire harnesses to 0.062" daughtercards are required. They are commonly used in test and burn-in ovens, as well as communication systems, process control systems, medical equipment, instrumentation, and automotive R&D.
Supplied with dip solder, straight, or right angle PC through hole, as well as card-extender terminations, they facilitate optimal design flexibility while ensuring robust and reliable connections in high-temperature applications. Materials are UL94V-0 rated. Parts are available with a choice of PBT or Nylon 9T insulators. The series features an operating temperature range of -65 degrees C to +150 degrees C, and a processing temperature of 260 degrees C peak. When mating with standard female edgecards, these male edgecard connectors can also enable Board stacking in very rugged environments. 0.100" pitch connectors are currently built with 4 to 60 contact positions, whilst 0.156" pitch offer 4 to 40 contact positions. The connectors' phosphor bronze contacts have 10 or 30 micro inch overall gold plating over nickel. Contact tail options include 100 micro inches pure tin or 5 micro inch gold and the contacts have a current rating of 3 Amps and an insulation resistance of 5,000 Megohms minimum at 125 VDC. Connectors can be ordered with tail lengths ranging from 0.100" (2.54mm) to 0.560 (14.22mm) with or without mounting ears. |
