MIL-C 26482 Connector
MIL-DTL-26482 Medium Density multi-pin, bayonet locking, miniature military circular connector ~ rugged construction with minimum weight.
|
|
This specification covers the general requirements for two series of environment resisting, bayonet quick disconnect, miniature, circular electrical connectors (and accessories). Each series contains hermetic receptacles. The two series of connectors are intermateable when using power contacts and are not intermateable when using shielded contacts. When intermated, the minimum performance requirement for Series I connectors will be met.
Historically much used in commercial, military and aerospace environments as well as robotics, communications, medical equipment, automation and sensors. The versatility of these connectors is proven by the fulfilment of requirements ranging from general purpose to space environmental.
Series I Connector, bayonet coupling, solder or front release crimp removable (125ºC). Hermetic sockets are also available. Series II Connector, bayonet coupling, rear release crimp removable contacts (200ºC), (classes H, N, and W, 175°C). Series 2, hermetic connectors are available with non-removable solder type contacts.
Series II connectors are intermateable and interchangeable with both solder and front-release crimp Series 1. They are also identical to the inactivated MIL-DTL-83723 Series I connectors.

Environmentally sealed, the shell seal is achieved when the plug shell pushes against the sealing ring in the receptacle as the connectors are mated. A peripheral seal around the edge of the pin insulator is designed so that mating the connector puts tension on the seal and greatly reduces compression set. An interfacial seal is achieved by the insulator faces meeting when the plug and receptacle are mated. A wire seal is accomplished by a multiple ripple design. |
